August 29, 2025. Benthel Asia School of Technology, Inc. held its first-ever School Press Conference, gathering aspiring journalists to showcase their skills and promote a culture of investigative journalism among students.
During the conference, students attended sessions based on their chosen categories. “It felt nice being able to join editorial cartooning as I am fond of drawing and sketching,” said Brenjane Villar, a student journalist from BAST. The event was led by journalism coaches Mr. Lordeneil Dayagbil, Ms. Ephykris Angela Cordeta, Ms. Mei Ann Hamac, Ms. Eliza Mae Lasan, and Mr. Angelito Pepito Jr. who emphasized the importance of integrity and accuracy in making articles.
School Principal Ma’am Arneda Q. Batan warmly welcomed the participants during the opening of the conference. “For almost 15 years, this has been the very first School Press Conference held in BAST. Finally, Benthel Asia School of Technology, Inc. has its own press conference,” she said. She further emphasized the vital role of the school’s core values in writing articles, adding, “And I was beyond grateful to the teachers and students who took part in this School Press Conference.”
As the event came to a close, students left with newfound knowledge, memorable experiences, and renewed passion for journalism. They expressed great enthusiasm to face new challenges and seize opportunities in the world of journalism.
